I have a Salora LCD 2221TNDVX which is broken, it does not even turn on, this page will show you how I attempted to debug it. First opening up, make sure to make pictures about the connector layout. The layout shows a bunch of blocks with a bit of imagination you can see the power 'block' on top, this is usually where the capacitors are. Closer inspection shows that the T3A/250V fuse is broken, the power is 12V/5A so the fuse is a bit weird at first glance, as it seems way lower rated. Looking a bit more closely I saw that the high-power circuit for the back-lights of the LCD was not protected by the fuse. I have found a replacement fuse for 3A at conrad.nl and replaced it with a soldering iron, however after connecting the power again it immediately blown again. This is going to be expensive, so I properly need a automatic fuse. This made me think that the capacitors might be broken, so I took the soldering iron again and took all capacitors out for measurements, with a simple diode-measurement I verified that the of the capacitors I soldered-out was not short-circuiting. I cannot measure 470uF and 100uF capacitors to verify they are not 'aged' so I will some capacitor meter. Also got a weird looking component with the cryptic name X1RA 1V, wondering what that will be.
